Our Parents’ Association hosted its annual community challah bake. The program, beautifully led by Rebbetzin Itty Goldshmid of Chabad of Valley Stream חב"ד לדוברי עברית לונג איילנד, was held in honor of the 10/7 victims & captives.
While attendees waited for the dough to rise, they learned about the origin of the word “challah” as well as the significance of the mitzvot associated with hafrashat challah. All guests then recited several tefillot for the State of Israel, those held captive and the IDF soldiers on the front lines.
